The Whole World is a Weapon

My boys have completely outgrown their gym mats with the dangly toys, unless an acceptable activity could be collapsing the top part on themselves,  getting tangled up in the parts, and screaming. All of the hard plastic toys that they have are used as weapons. What kinds of toys do your babies play with that are soft enough not to injure the other baby. Right now I am constantly moving them out of each other's reach, which they hate even more than being hit in the head.

  • We told family, "Only plush toys!!" We had plush rings, plush blocks, stuffed animals and balls. I think that was it until they were older.

  • We had soft Baby Einstein blocks, stuffed animals, a plush ball and things like plastic stacking rings that didn't really hurt if one boy bopped the other with it.

  • yeah, that sounds like an acceptible activity ;)  i'd like to know how i can get through the day without injury. i've had cuts on my nose twice now from being hit by a baby toy.  and much of the time i feel like a victim in night of the living dead or some such b horror film.  they climb and claw all over me, and pull hair.  when audrey does this to vivi, i try to intercept.  they are STRONG, huh?!  we don't really have too many toys.  there are a bunch of things with batteries in them.... things that spin, things that move up and down, etc.  trying to keep a minimalist approach, and i think right now they are too busy exploring the house to focus on toys.
