Just got a new Palm Pre

How are you liking it so far?  I LOVE mine!  I have had it since November and am now addicted to it.

eh, I don't love it yet.  I am not 100% sure that I didn't get a dud.  I don't get very good reception on it anywhere!  I'm going to give it another few days and see if anything changes or else I'll have to take it back and see if it's that phone in particular or what.  I had great service with my previous phone.  I also don't like that it downloaded every single facebook friend to my contacts, waaaaaaay to many people in there that I will never in 2 million years want to call.  I'm guessing i just have to go through and delete?

There is a little plastic door on the side of the phone where you plug in the charger - it just sorta pops out but it's connected so the cover doesn't go anywhere. When you're looking at the front of the phone, it's on the right hand side, about halfway down.

 Do you have the Verizon one or the Sprint one?  Once you get a chance to play a little bit, make sure you have the most recent firmware update, because I've seen some improvement in battery life & reception since I updated. 

Honestly, we love our Palm Pres - both DH and I have one. There are a few things that I wish it had, but I get pretty good reception, etc. I thought I'd hate having the Facebook contacts on there, but it's actually come in handy on a few occasions when I've looked for someone I thought I had, and didn't, but turns out I had their FB information. Then again, I don't have a TON of FB friends, so maybe that makes a difference. Since you can just search by typing, I rely on that, and don't really worry about having too many people on there. Plus, it adds their email addresses and such which is convenient.

 Hopefully you start liking it better though!

So funny you mentioned that, it updated today and seems to have a better signal.  For the charger, I have that Touchstone that you just sit the phone on top of.  I guess the cover that was on my phone kept it from taking a charge?  I took that off and it seems to work fine now.

I have a feeling I'll like it once I get used to it.

Ah, yes, the touchstone is a great little device, but if you have a cover OVER the phone, it may or may not work since it's basically a magnet that is charging the phone.  I'm a little bit of a nerd with the Pre, so if you ever have questions, feel free to ask me!
