DH's "Emergency"

Last night DH is feeding DD a bottle and I was pumping.  She spit up a really good amount and it went down DH's leg.  He was wearing sweatpants.  He jumped up and shouted for me to come help him.

He was getting mad at me because I was taking too long to respond.  Ummm... hello?  I need to unsuction my boobs, wipe them off and hook my bra back on.  I'm moving quickly and will be over to you in 15 seconds.

His shouting caused me to go running over to him with my boobs flopping everywhere.  Thank goodness I pulled the curtain closed already!

He kept shouting "Emergency!!"  NO this is not an emergency.  DD is not choking.  You just have boob juice on your pants!!

His little scene woke DD from her drowsy state and it took longer to get her to sleep last night.  ugh. I went to bed annoyed at him.

Re: DH's "Emergency"

  • DH was playing with DS and poop squirted out from his diaper, through his clothes onto DH's pants!  He didn't really think it was the end of the world but he was pretty disgusted!  I was trying hard not to laugh too hard!

  • LOL! I'm getting a hilarious visual, thanks.
  • DH also freaked out when LO spit up on him! I mean really, it is that big of a deal??? I suppose it comes out of us first, so it's not a gross to us. But it was kinda chunky so it really grossed him out! But if DH did what yours did in the same situation I would have probably smacked him for not having any patience.

This.  Seriously, tell him to relax and stop crying "emergency" unless the child is bleeding or at risk of death.

My favorite is when DH was changing a diaper in the middle of the night and DS peed on him, the changing table, the wall, everything.  I guess DH wasn't fully awake and all I heard was "It's on me!!"  LOL.

  • I think he needs to read Peter and the Wolf.  Heck, when DS doesn't spit up a ton, THEN we'll yell emergency.

  • Ha! I tell my DH that he has to get over stuff like this. He says he accepts the things I can't handle and I need to accept that he's not comfortable with bodily fluids. Ha. He gets a spit bubble on him and shouts for a burp cloth. Meanwhile I cup my hand and catch the puke.
