My midwife actually told me to lay off the workouts! I was having pretty bad pelvic pain, and she told me to take it easy. I'm used to working out to try to get rid of minor aches & pains, but according to her, it doesn't work that way during pregnancy.
I walk everyday for about 20 minutes with my dog in the morning and try to get to the gym twice a week to ride the bike and do light weights. Just got word from my dr. though that I need to slow it down a little b/c I'm overexerting myself which is unreal to me. But I am on the go a lot. I need to do prenatal yoga...

Diminished ovarian reserve and morphology issues. How in 4 years things change...
i took my dog for a short walk around the block last night and was exhausted...in my defense, I wasn't allowed to do anything for my first half of the pregnancy due to complications...and was even on bedrest for a bit...but it is still really pathetic!! I'm so glad that it is warming up so I can start regaining some strength and stamina!!!
I've been trying recently to do 3x a week. 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes light weights. Of course when I was finally keeping to the schedule I got sick and haven't been in a week. Ugh!
eh. I hate running so I never run, but I play a lot of volleyball and softball usually 4 times a week or more so I'm usually very active.
Obviously I have not been playing ANY volleyball or softball anymore. (it's pretty competitive and usually co-ed so it would not be pretty).
So, basically some yoga here and there for now, but as soon as the weather starts getting nicer I'll walk plenty and start going to the gym again since I can't play ANY sports this summer. Oh i'll probably swim too.
I typically make it about 3 times a week although would prefer 4-5 times. I alternate between 30 minute fast paced walks and 30 minutes of weights. Pretty sad but at least it's something. And I'm hopeful that now that it's starting to warm up I'll get more walking in w/ my dog. Once the rain stops that is!

Hahaha! I don't! I am not a huge Gym fan but I am very active throughout the day. When I'm home I go for short walks to the mail box or around the block, I'll clean my house or I'll find an excuse to go shopping! When I'm teaching I'm always on my feet and I do Daily physical activities with the kids. I am on duty outside on the yard a lot so I am walking around then as well!
My weight gain and blood pressure is great and my OB is happy with everything so I will just continue to do what I've been doing!
The walking just happens anyway because I walk to and home from work, about 1 1/3 mile each way. I would like to say that I'm still going to the gym for cardio & weights 3X a week too, but it's more like 2-if-I'm-up-for-it these days. I want to get better about it - just hard to make myself get there some days when the sacrum pain acts up not to mention that I get winded a lot easier than I used to.
Just went to our first Bradley class last night and got some labor-specific exercises to start doing, so that should be neat.
OMG, i'm such a lard a**. Good for you girls! I need to get on it! The weather is finally nice, so maybe I'll make up less excuses! I have wanted to use the recumbent bike- but my when my knees go upwards it feels weird on my lower abdomen/ute.
Thanks for the inspiration!
2 m/c's before DS, 3 m/c's post DS (Jan '12, March'12, May '12)
I exercise about 4 times a week. Usually 2 days cardio, 2 days weight training. I totally wish I could still run, but, even walking is hard on my knees & ankles these days so I haven't attempted to run since I was about 8 weeks.
There for awhile I was able to semi-keep up with my gym routine. I did the ellipitical up until about 2 weeks ago. I got on and just felt terrible- it was too much. I've been getting pain and cramping if I try to push myself even a little bit. As a result, I've started walking everyday instead. It seems so lame to me since I was used to my pp intense workouts...but ohwell! There will be plenty of time for that after the LO is born!
So now I try to walk at least 6 days a week...2-3 miles or so.
I'm not able to workout very much. I have the time, but I have herniated discs in my back and when I work out too much they act up and are very painful. The most I do is 2-3short walks a week to the store or post office and by the time I get back I'm exhausted and my back already hurts, but I guess it's better then nothing!
Swimming at least once per week, but would like to make that more like 3x/week. I hate swimming, the worst part of triathlon training for me. I feel good afterwards, though.
Riding 1-2x/week on my trainer. I used to ride outside 3-4x/week but DH is very worried about me riding on the roads. I agree, we get some crazy drivers around here and it just takes one to ruin everything, so I'm stuck on the trainer until little one is born. I will go out on the bike path sometimes, but with all the other activities going on (loose dogs, young children on bikes, etc.) that is sometimes more dangerous than riding on the road!
I am trying to lift 2x/week, at least my arms, chest and back.
Having said that, I've been a lazy lump this week. I swam Monday, walked 4.5 miles on Tuesday, did nothing yesterday aside from eat 456,780 calories. Plan on running today and some lifting.
On a perfect week I'd do 4-5 days of at least 30 min elliptical and/or walking on the treadmill. Some weeks I've done 4-5 days of 60 minutes exercise. However this week I've been sick so its been one day of 30 minutes elliptical so far. And we're finishing our basement so the equipment is going to get moved into a small space where we can't use it for a few weeks. Guess I'll need to just go outside instead.
I am definately not doing as much I want to be. I am walking about 3.5 miles on Saturdays and Sundays. I don't do much during the week. Every week I say I am going to get up early a few days and walk but that hasnt been happening. I have been trying to walk on my lunch break on nice days.
eliptical 30min 5 days a week followed by a circuit of weights. I'm tired of using the same weight machines so I have an appointment with a trainer this afternoon to show me some new things.

I do yoga at least twice a week--some week I have been able to squeeze in 3-4 times/wk. And I try to walk with DH and our dog twice a week. I try to stretch every day though (for about 15 mins).
That's great!! 3 things a week is absolutely great! Besides you walk around and "stuff" which helps constantly. I'm in the gym 4 days a week, 2 days lifting upper / lower body and then 2 days of cardio - walking on the weekends. I'm 13 weeks along and have gained 8lbs already so I don't know what's going on. LOL Keep up the good work!

Ugggg! Everytime I have tried walk I feel awful afterwards with either a horrible headache, upper ab pain, or nauseated!!
So... I try to go every now and then and just go for shorter and slower walks. Maybe 1-2 a week

The 1st tri I was to tired, but I have been back at the gym and doing the eliptical and Treadmil.
I also am a huge fan of - Summer Sanders Pre-Natal workout DVD. She breaks it up into trimesters. I'm on the 2nd tri workout now and it's great!
