I think I'm very casual but like to be trendy. Usually I'm in shorts and flip flops and t-shirts, but when I dress up - I do like the designer clothes and shoes and I like looking cute.
Yes, it has changed, I'm a lot more casual now than I used to be. Even though I've always been casual I think being a SAHM has spoiled me and now I really enjoy relaxing in t-shirts and yoga pants. I used to never go out without make-up but now I almost never go out WITH make-up!
Yes, I do dress Alexis casual. Despite my MILs best efforts to get her in things with lace and ruffles, she is usually in shorts or little romper skirts or leggings and t-shirts and sneakers. She's 2, she plays, she should be comfortable. I have never been girly so I don't dress her girly, I wonder if it will carry over or if she will want to dress differently later!
Well, if I had my choice and looked good in the clothes, I'd dress "classic" all the time. I love being done up and what have you. I keep saying "when I lose all this weight....", "when I get my surgery...." etc.
I used to live in jeans and tshirts and while it was comfortable, I always felt frumpy and masculine. My body image issues didn't really help either. I feel much better now that I have lost weight and actually make an effort to look decent before I leave the house. Make up is great at making me feel pretty too!
So, classic and dressy I suppose
I don't dress Liev like this on a day to day basis.
I'm casual all the way. Outside of work I live in jeans and t-shirts, with either flip flops or sneakers on my feet (or no shoes at home). I do try to dress nicely for work, but I've never been trendy, shooting for more classic in that regard so that I can get the most wear out of my clothes, using accessories to update an outfit (chunky necklaces, for example). I have some dress pants that I bought before I met my husband! (We met 10 years ago.)
As for makeup, I almost always curl my eyelashes and put a touch of very light foundation (tinted moisturizer) to even out my skin tone, and maybe some tinted lip balm (I love burts bees for this!). I never used to wear makeup on the weekends, but I figure I look casual enough with my clothes and two messy kids, so I may as well clean up my face a little.
Totally forgot to answer the rest. My kids are always casual. We used to dress Cedric in button down shirts all the time, but now we just go for t-shirt style long sleeved tops (for sun protection). Graciela is a jeans and t-shirt type of girl Maybe when she starts walking I'll put her in dresses again.
I am pretty girly in my style, but i now tend to dress casual since becoming a SAHM. So yes, the answer to #2 is that it has changed. I also used to never leave the house without my hair and makeup done and now it's the exact opposite! I used to wear blouses and black pants to work everyday, now I'm in jeans/shorts and tshirts or just my gym clothes all the time!
I don't. I dress Zoe in what I think is cute for a kid. She's comfy and casual for preschool days and playdates, but for parties and days we're not doing much activity, especially in the summer when it's too hot for the park I like to put her in skirts and sundresses.
i've always been really casual on a day to day basis... my wardrobe has always been (since high school.... ugh... i just realized that. i need a change!) tank tops, jeans and flip flops. But I always pair it with some really funky jewerly and I definitely always wear some sort of makeup!
If I'm going out somewhere formal- definitely classic. But since kids, I haven't raelly gone anywhere formal in a long, long time.
Abby is pretty funky dressed kid... but casual. She wears a lot of leggings under skirts and tank tops, too lol (hey, I put my kid in pink fuzzy boots for winter... I need a kid with style! lol)
To say that my style changed after I had a baby is a drastic understatement!
Before Nicholas I was dressed up at all time. All the time. I never left the house without heels and a completely put together outfit. I changed my bag to match every outfit. I LOVED designer clothes. I mostly bought classic styles so that I could get several years of wear out of them without looking dated, but I mixed in less expensive trendy stuff too so that I would be up on the latest styles.
Now I am a running suit and flats girl.Or for a "dressier" mom look, leggings, a tunic top and ballet flats. Not that I look crappy....my stuff is still somewhat stylish, but it is a far cry from the kind of clothes I would like to be wearing. They just don't fit into my life anymore.
I tried wearing heels when Nicky was first born, but it was too hard going up and down stairs holding him and trying to balance myself and lugging the infant carrier in and out of the car in heels. And I gave up on wearing nice outfits on a daily basis because all of my good stuff got stained from spit up and dirty little hands.
Nice clothes is one of the primary reasons I really miss going to work everyday.
Oh and to answer the second part of your question....I guess I live vicariously through my child. Nicholas has more clothes than any boy child should have and a pair of shoes/sneakers, jacket and hat to match each one. His stuff is not super expensive though. I don't really believe in wasting money on designer stuff for kids. 90% of his clothes are from the Childrens Place and Target. For $40 I can get him a whole outfit with the shoes and a jacket and leave the store feeling happy.
I don't think my overall style has changed too much. I've always been more on the casual/trendy side anyway, although now I just have less time and money to shop for me. I definitely used to wear more designer clothes and now I make more budget friendly purchases. I wear nicer clothes and high heels during the week, but on the weekends I'm always in jeans or cords and comfy shoes. I'm with Andrea in that Quinn has more clothes than I do! I dress him in casual clothes mostly from Gap or Old Navy.
I would say I'm really casual. I mostly wear jeans, a t-shirt, and flip flops (or sneakers). But I love to dress up. When I go to lunch or the movies I dress casual but I accessorize. When we go "out" I like to dress up.
hmmm. i would say a blend of trendy and classic. i generally wear simple pieces but funk it up with the accessories. yeah, my style has changed a bit since becoming a mom. mainly because my old clothes never really fit right again, and i just dont have the budget or time to start over : ( and, like andrea, heels don't really work in many situations any more.
My style is a mix of classic and girly. I like pink, I like ruffles, I like lace. On the weekends my usual attire is dark jeans, small heels or pumps, a detailed cami and a cardigan. Or a baby doll dress. I love flip flops, but usually only wear them to the mall or if my back is hurting and I can't wear nicer shoes. I really never leave the house in t-shirts and sneakers unless I'm going somewhere outdoors. Or to the gym. To work, I'd say my attire is mostly classic. Dark/neutral colored slacks or skirts with simple tops.
I love handbags but I hate changing all of my stuff out of it, so I usually get one I LOVE and wear it until it dies, and then buy a new one. LOL. And I am crazy about makeup.
No kids yet obviously, but I am really curious to see if it will change the way I dress! I suspect that it will.
I would say that my style is dressy for work and trendier on the weekends. You'd most likely find me in nice jeans with high heels and a trendy/classic top depending on the outing. I'll dress this way just to go out and run errands, lol. IDK if this will change when I have kids - probably not because my mom and most of the women in my family are like this so I think that's where I got it from.
As for my kids, the way we dress them will probably be a reflection of our style. But, one thing I do know FOR SURE is that I want them to dress very kid-like. I remember my mom used to dress me in very girly things when I was little, but now I see "adult" fashion for little girls and that I know I don't want at all - no heels, makeup, midriffs or any teenage-like clothing for my little girls. I see some of the kids dressing that way starting in elementary school and it's too much too early IMO.
Work: Classic/Dressy with a touch of trendy. I dress up for work every day and coordinate matching purse to go with my shoes and accesorize with neclaces, bracelets, etc.
Going out/Date Nights/Grown Up Evenings: Trendy
Weekends: Usually trendy/casual, For example- Jeans, a cute top, flats and a fun neclace. If I'm running errands on a Saturday morning, I might do victoria secrets elastic pants and hoody with a tank top and flip flops. That was mainly my "uniform" on maternity leave as well.
I always try to put in effort in my appearance although I know I was able to put in a lot more effort before Nadia.
Nadia wears cute but comfy clothes. I want her to be able to play and be a kid and not stress that she's going to ruin her clothes. I like leggings and tunics for her with converse. I buy her clothes all the time, but nothing expensive since she usually just wears things only once. She dresses cuter on the weekends then she does for her babysitter. During the week she wears leggings a tee-shirt and sneakers everyday.

Do you mean my style as far as clothes?
