Pregnant after a Loss

Would you do this?

I am considering signing up for a prenatal yoga class. The class starts March 24 and that's super early. I won't even be 7 weeks yet. However, I have been planning to start taking yoga again for a while and just haven't gotten around to it and I don't want to take regular yoga now.

So, would you wait or take the plunge?  I guess I am really still afraid to do too much pregnancy related that requires a commitment since I don't know what will happen.

  • I would as long as you feel comfortable!  I want to start taking a prenatal yoga class too, but I have to wait.  The yoga studio near me requires you to be in the 2nd trimester before taking the class.  Not sure why!

  • It is possible they require that and this is a moot point. I haven't even called and there isn't any information on their website other than the date, time and who to call to register.

  • I'd call to make sure, but if you can start now I would!  It's never too early IMO.  My Dr. keeps emphasizing the importance of exercising reguarly and all the benefits it will provide later in pregnancy and delivery.
  • I decided to wait until the 2nd tri to look for a place. I personally just wanted to get through this m/s and all that stuff. I would call and check to see if it's an option to join at 7 weeks.

  • all 3 yoga places I called required you to be on 2nd tri. That being said, I was taking dancing classes (tap and jazz) during my entire first tri, with no problems

  • I've looked into prenatal yoga too but none of the studios or even hospitals that offer it allow it before 12 weeks and they require your doctor to sign a permission slip! But my pregnant friend and I have decided to take prenatal water aerobics instead!

  • Maybe I won't bother then.  I'm good on the exercise. I've just missed the yoga.

  • If you find a good yoga class (one with a knowledgeable instructor) then they should be able to give you modifications druing the regular yoga class.  If you take it easy and listen to your body, I think you could do regular beginning yoga with no problem.  After 2nd tri, I imagine it all changes because they don't want you on your back.

  • Yes You will love it
