You know you are getting old when you get super excited for practical gifts. Today for my birthday, my hubby got me a new cup holder for my Jeep (didn't have one), a new fender for the Jeep (broken), and a microwavable bacon cooking plate. 

And I was so happy!!  Anybody else get excited for practical gifts?

    This Christmas was "Crock Pot Christmas" - my dad, my sister and I all got one.  We were very happy!

    I go through phases.  Sometimes I want practical gifts and get excited, other times I want something that couldn't be further from practical.

    it is just a special plate to cook bacon in the microwave-keeps it crispy, and the grease falls into little channels at the bottom

    I def. do. My mom still has me make out a Christmas list. When she read the list it made her sad cause I wanted baking sheets, pots and pans, kitchen aid mixer, and so forth. She was like I miss when all you wanted were toys.lol. I guess I'm all grown up now. =)
