Follow up to Appt. this morning.

I was so excited to maybe have a gender, that I forgot half the other stuff that happened at my appointment!

I was scolded because I still haven't gained any weight from pre-pregnancy. I did, however, gain 4lbs since my last appointment 4 weeks ago! This makes me only down 1lb overall. My OB said that if I continue in this path I should be fine, but if I don't gain at least 4lbs again before my next appointment in 4 weeks, he's sending me to a nutritionist...

AND that he was leaving the practice.

Ummm... EXCUSE ME?! He told me he's leaving obstetrics to move to Southern CA to do some robotic surgical gynecological work... before the baby is born. I am NOT happy!

There are other capable and nice doctors in the practice, but I am still disappointed.

Oh no - that sucks that he's leaving before you have the baby. 
I hope you find another doc that you like.

Otherwise a GREAT appointment... I posted earlier, but he did a quick u/s and even though baby wasn't very cooperative, he thinks were team pink! He thought he saw a peen at first, but then moved the wand and saw that LO's foot was resting there, so it was probably a toe he saw, not a peen becasue he never saw it again, but we have a stubborn one, so we don't know for sure.

Oh no!  Sorry your doc is leaving (especially if he's coming to join my doc's group- they're all about the robotic surgery)- I hope you connect quickly with one of the other docs in his group.  Glad the rest of the appt went well though!

Oh that sucks about him leaving. 

I really wouldn't worry about the weight gain, as long as you're doing everything right. I only gained 12 lbs total with my first pregnancy.

Are you really underweight to begin with? I lost 5 lbs. between my 12 and 16 week appointments and I haven't gained any of it back yet, but my peri didn't seem concerned at the time. He said he was more concerned with fundal height than my weight. I didn't gain an ounce with DS until at least 20 weeks, and still managed to gain 25 lbs. and have an almost 9lb. baby. I hope you can find another doctor in your practice you like as much as him, when he leaves!

Oh no, that's a bummer about him leaving, although what a very interesting reason he is leaving for.

Good luck trying to find another dr. I'm sure you will find one just as nice and capable!!
