Never get your kid a cell phone

My mother got DD one when she started Jr High because she had to walk to the public library after school, and was freaking out about it.

DD never uses the phone except when she is pissed at me- then she calls up GMa and GPa to biitch and moan about how unfair and mean I am.

This used to result in me getting a call from my folks and them poking pins in me.

Now? I've finally got them on my side, and they tell her they are sorry she is upset, but that Mom is Mom, and Mom is usually right.

My DD got one for X-Mas. I had to bust her bubble very quick she thought she was going to text all night.

Now at 9 she has to hand over the phone.

Mine is 13 and not very social. She only texts me, and sometimes her grandparents.

She is on a shared plan with my folks, so I hope it never becomes an issue, so we don't have to take away the phone.
