High bp readings

I've been on modified bed rest and medicine due to elevated bp since about 22 weeks.  I've noticed the last week or so that my waking bp is high - this morning it was 143/92.  Anyone have high readings like this first thing in the morning??  Thanks in advance!

I think that anything over 140/90 is pretty high no matter when it's taken. You should call your doctor and just let them know what's going on. I got readings like that when I was on hospital bedrest, but it got higher throughout the day.

It depends on what you did just before...did you get out of bed and take it right away or was it after a shower?  They shoot for less than 140/90 but occasional readings that high are not as concerning as consistent readings that are that high. If you only had one reading that high then you can probably wait until your next appointment to tell them but if it is that high every day they need to know.  They may adjust your meds or just tell you to be on strict bedrest.

Just clarifying my point about the levels...if your daily am readings are above 140/90 than I would tell them now. If you are running in the 130's/80's then today it was over 140/90 I would wait a day or two to see if it is going to continue to be that high or if that one reading was an anomaly.
