Hey ladies. Maybe this is silly... but it's hard for me when I don't speak the same language as my doctors and nurses. We've been using some friends as translators, but they aren't professionals. I'm just wondering if any of you have had experience with occasional sharp, stinging kind of pains in your vagina/cervix. It has been happening to me on and off for the past several days, and I don't know if it's something to be concerned about or not. At my appointment last week they said my cervix was soft, its length was still in a good range, but getting shorter. It looked like it was funneling based on the ultrasound picture. I've been on light bedrest. This is my first pregnancy, so I'm not sure what's normal and what's not. I'll call the doctor if I need to, though it's after hours now. Thanks.

Re: Pains in cervix?
With your potential cervix issues, I would call your doctor. I had those with my first pregnancy (baby was very, very low throughout my pregnancy) and while it did not specificlally mean my cervix was changing I did have a clear cut case of incompetent cervix.
I would do as strict bedrest as you can, till your next appointment/ultrasound. Lie on your side, minimize activity etc. bedrest can help as the cervix is dynamic and always changing.
