Babies on the Brain

$650 a vial. I wonder why sperm got more expensive.

I doubt the technology has changed.  And they upped the charges for everything.  Profiles, essays, etc.  Don't even talk to me about shipping. Then the cost of the IUI procedure.  Excellent rep for parenthood I suppose, but still frustrating.  Yikes.

And no way to know that it isn't actually 'provided' by from random homeless addicts wonking away in the alley behind the building.

  • How well do they screen this stuff or is there a way to do that? (for diseases etc?)

Sorry, I don't know much about the sperm doning stuff.

  • They test it for everything under the sun, quarantine it for six months, test again.  I get health reports going back three generations, SAT scores, personality tests, star look-a-likes, audio samples, short and long profiles, essay question answers.  They also offer handwriting analysis, photo matching, and other silly stuff.

My guy is 'premium' so they guarantee 10 or 15 million swimmers per vial (I forget which because different banks label things differently).
