Okay, here goes.
Ever since I can remember I have had very heavy CM right before ovulation. I ordered some OPK a while ago in order to be as accurate as possible in detecting O. I am pretty consistent with my O date, which is about CD14/CD15. Anyways, I had a + OPK on CD 14 but absolutely no CM. Id it possible that I O'd and just didnt have a CM? I know, that this is possible, but I cannot figure out why this month is was MIA. AF came and I dont know why this would have happened. Any insight?
Re: Here's one for all you knowledgeable bumpies!
You answered your own question. Yes it is possible. Why? ::Shrugs:: Hard tellin' not knowin'. Cycles can change at any given moment for no reason whatsoever.
So you check CM and use OPKs, but you don't chart?
I dont think that my diet has changed at all. Though, I have been having slight cramps frequently. Perhaps I should take a HPT? Can a OPK be wrong?
Didn't you say your period came? If not, I wouldn't waste an HPT.
Yes, OPKs can be wrong, so to speak. OPKs don't confirm ovulation, they only predict that it's going to happen, but sometimes you get faked out. In otherwords, your body gears up to O and you have HCG in your system, but then you don't ovulate. The only way to confirm is by either an ultrasound or by seeing a sustained thermal shift when charting your waking temps.
No, I haven't, I guess I am just going on what my body was telling me. I know this is unreliable but my Dr. said that some woman dont have to chart and that since my cycles are so consistent that pinpointing O with OPK would be fine.
Yes, AF did come, however my mother didnt know she was pregnant with both my brother and I until about 4 months because she had bleeding every month- which she, of course, thought was her period. So that, in itself, is always in the back of my mind.
If your cycles have always been about the same length and you always got fertile CM and a +OPK around the same time, then you probably were ovulating around when you thought you were. Obviously it's ok not to chart... millions of people do it.
With that said, even the most regular and consisitent cycles can change at any moment for no reason whatsoever.
Wow, that's crazy!
I don't know what to tell you. Good luck
