What is the best way to clean out a freezer?

Usually I just wipe it down and then everything freezes the bottom.  I still have stuff that needs to be frozen.

Could I put that stuff in a cooler for a half hour or so, while I turn the temp up and leave the door open?  Any other ideas?

    My upstairs freezer I just wipe out. My BIG OLD STANDUP FULL FREEZER in the basement is another story entirely.

    I wrap foods in newspaper and put it in coolers. I spread newspaper on the ground and take a hairdryer to it to get all the ice uncrusted. Wipe it out. Dry it again. Plug it back in. Let it run for a half hour or so and then restock it and there ya go.

    Not sure if that will help you though.
