I just wanted to introduce myself. I gave birth to our daughter at 1:48 a.m. today at 28 w 3 d. I had been on hospital bed rest for almost 2 weeks due to a placenta abruption and my water had sprung a leak. So far, Sydney is doing well. I had 2 rounds of steriods so she was initiating breathing on her own when she was born and has been doing pretty well today. She is 2 lb 5 oz and 15 inches long. I am already amazed with the staff here at the hospital and in the NICU. I have been reading on here and it looks as though you ladies are a great support system!
Re: New here
Welcome baby Sydney!
My DD was born at 27w3d, a month after my water broke. We were glad to have received the steroids as well - I think that made a huge difference.
Good Luck and let us know how everything going.
I'm in somewhat the same shoes you are in. I'm currenlty stuck in the hospital because my water started leaking at 25 w 6d and will be 29 weeks tomorrow.
I've had the steroid shots as well and as everyone has said, I'm sure they will make a huge difference.
Wishing you and your daughter the best. I'm having a girl too.
