Seriously? I'm not even 7 weeks, there's NO way they can know!  But I emailed the captain of my hockey team to let her know I have to sit out the first half of the season because of a "knee problem" (the knee is a great excuse - means I have to take it easy, cant drink cuz of the "meds"...at least the excuse is working at work) So she writes back and wraps up the email with this gem:

BTW: the team is suspicious that your "knee problems" = pregnancy.

I made sure that anyone I told was specifically instructed to not tell anyone and gave them the reasons. I had to tell my coworkers because my job requires a lot of lifting and whatnot, and I didn't want them to think I was just lazy all of a sudden. I think that if you are up front with her and tell her the real reason but that you're really uncomfortable telling anyone because of your history she should understand. Just my two cents though. I suck at secrets though so it slips out more than I want it to.

did they know about your previous loss?  I noticed that people who know I had lost pgs were always looking to "out" me, even when I definitely wasn't pg.  They're just excited for you and assume that you'll be pg again soon, and they want to be the first to know!  It sucks definitely (especially when you're NOT pg), but it's sweet that they're so eager for you.

They don't know about the loss, since it was early. I feel the need to stick to my guns about not telling.  I guess I just don't like that there are whispers about something so personal.  But I guess I did the same thing before I was planning on having kids!

I had the same thing happen to me tonight. I had a really poor excuse for not drinking though (drinking + cold = weakened immune system = me getting more sick). UGH! lol

I had no excuse for the drinking thing DH doesnt drink so my DD story didnt work lol... Every time we had news we were pregnant... according to friends and family... We have news! YOURE PREGNANT? no we bought a house, OH... We have news! YOURE PREGNANT no my grad school grant got accepted! OH We have something new to show you DO I HAVE TO WAIT NINE MONTHS TO SEE IT?! Nope... its a puppy.... OH
