People amaze me....

So I am the HR Coordinator for my company....and I had a guy come in this afternoon to fill out an application and here's the info he told me....

That he has been in jail for 5 years because he was in a stolen car when it got pulled over, said it was a guilty by association thing.

 

Said he is a felon because of the stolen car

 

He?s had two dui?s

 

He does not have a drivers license because of DUI?s

 

Once he gets his license back, his car will have a blow start and he is waiting till he has $100 so he can buy the blow start for his car

 

It?s amazing what people will tell me right off the bat, I mean I feel bad for the guy because it seems like he is trying to get his life together but come on, I don?t need to know your whole life story.

 

So there?s NO WAY we can hire him because A)he?s a felon He doesn?t have a drivers license (our guys have to have one because we have company trucks) C) He has a DUI in the last 5 years which means our insurance company wont insure him on our company trucks.

At least he's honest, I guess.

That stinks for him though since like you said it sounds like he is trying to get his life together.

I do give him credit for his honesty.  It takes a lot to admit that kind of stuff.  I wonder if he just told you upfront so that he wouldn't be wasting your time if that all disqualified him?

From my experience, some people just don't know what they should or shouldn't say. I don't think that it's a matter of trying to be honest and upfront, just that they don't know any better that they shouldn't say those things.

my DH works in a prison and has to deal with these people all the time.  Honestly, I think you dodged a bullet there! *whew*

 

I get the impression the only reason he was "honest" is because it would show up on his rap sheet. (I say "honest" because of the he was in a stolen car when it got pulled over, guilty by association thing.  Jails are full of innocent people! LOL!)

Ha. Yeah. I totally agree. I find it hard to believe he got 5 years just for being guilty by association....

I have one more reason you can't hire him. He HAS TO USE the blow start device and if he is in a car without one and gets pulled over he will have his license suspended again.
