I've only used it once before. I didn't hold the other nostril closed. But I did breath in while squirting. I expected it to make me choke and gag, but it didn't. Over all, not a bad experience.

Also, for extra effectiveness (and complication) my allergist says to use the hand opposite of the nostril you're squirting in to spray with. Does that make sense? Apparently it gets the medication farther into your nasal passages.
Luv2cdolfinz, that's an interesting tip. I guess it makes sense, in terms of the angle that would come from the opposite hand? As sad as this is, though, I don't know if I have enough strength in my left/non-dominant hand to really give the bottle a good squeeze!
Also make sure to squeeze REALLY hard and fast, to make sure it completely vaporizes. Otherwise you get drops of liquid and it's like a squirt gun up your nose, blech.
Re: School me on nasal spray
Breathe in while you do it, not after.
And you don't have to hold the other nostril closed unless you really want to.

Holy ShSh1t. I only did one nostril.
Instant dizzyness and now I feel like that nostirl has has liquid oozing out but I don't see anything...
You'll figure it out and get used to it. No worries.

QSS is wise. Follow her instructions.
