I pulled my credit report and saw a few old debts that I didn't realize that I had, each less than $100. I called the first creditor to pay it off, the debt is only $15 and they wanted to charge me an additional $10 to have it remove it from my credit report. I asked to speak with a supervisor and magically they agreed to take it off without the additional fee. Totally rediculous and I feel badly for the people that actually pay that fee. I didn't even realize that I had this debt, it just appeared on my report in January of this year, had I known about it, I would have paid it a long time ago. All this for $15, ugh.
