It worked.  She has been showing disengagement signals while being rocked so I laid her down and just sat beside her on the bed AND SHE WENT TO SLEEP!

Should I photo document this?  DH isn't going to believe me.

Yay!  When I read the title, I thought you might be describing how you were feeling today.    I started letting V fall asleep on her own for naps over a month ago.  She would not fall asleep while nursing, but if I sat in the glider she would roll over and go to sleep.  We graduated to DBA at night a few weeks ago, too.

Yay Rebecca!  I remember the first time M did that.  It was bittersweet as it was so sweet to watch him drift off to sleep but then I also miss him falling asleep on my chest.
