I hate reading confessions...

I read one today on another board and there's a girl that takes meds that "aren't recommended during pregnancy but, have never been proven harmful to the fetus," so she can "cope" with work.

She also let the dog pee on the kitchen floor last night because she was to tired to take him out.  She was running late for work this morning so, it's still not cleaned up.

The problem is that I can't "flame" her because this particular board doesn't like "meanies" and I don't want to be that girl-geeze.

Not knowing what med it is or what her problem is I wouldn't flame. The dog pee one? Ya I'd flame. No matter how tired I am I'd clean up any kind of urine left on my floors. Mean or not.

Didn't you go to the length of flying out of state to have a genetic test done that your expert Dr. did not recommend b/c of the risk to twins (a dr. who you trusted with Emerson)..... just for "peace of mind"?

    Just sayin'.

wow.  This lady sounds depressed.  She is taking meds to not feel stressed out.  She didn't have the energy to take her dog out.  She didn't care enough about herself and her home to clean up the pee.

Please don't flame her.  That's pretty cruel.

Maybe my priorities are out of whack, but the one about the dog makes me really sad for him. Poor thing -- they are trained to go outside, so he must have had to REALLY go to let it loose in the house like that. That's just pure selfishness and laziness. If she can't take care of her dog, how will she deal with her baby?

Yes I am aware that twins makes you higher risk in general, but so not the same thing.

huh?  Additional testing performed by (I assume) a licensed medical professional relates HOW to taking questionable meds during pregnancy?

I didn't say risk of twins, I said risk to twins (the fetuses..fetui...whatev). She said her Dr. wasn't comfortable doing the procedure on twins, and was so hard up to find any dr. willing to do the procedure that she flew out of state.... just for peace of mind because she worries sooo much about defects (oh, and she got to learn the sex really early! woohoo, bonus!).

Not so out of left field, Ougrad. Can we say pot calling kettle black? Your "defense" of constantly calling me names is so pathetic. I'm sorry, you just paint yourself as so dumb dumb dumb.... and I'd rather be a geek than that. :-P

Quit trying so hard Wanger...it's not becomming.

My regular OB doesn't do the CVS and the MFM who did my CVS on Emerson doesn't do it on twins so, he doesn't have the experience so, yes, I went to a specialist who had 20 yrs experience doing CVS on twins.

I'm pretty sure that I made an informed decision that was the safest thing for my babies.  The risk of anything going wrong was less than 1% with the dr that I went to.

You're so full of crap, Ougrad. They didn't "send" you there because you needed the procedure; they "referred" you because you so desperately wanted it done for peace of mind. It posed a risk to your babies, albeit minute, but you went waaaay out of your way (literally) to have it done anyway so you could have peace of mind. Right? And nobody flamed you on here for that, right? You aren't so different that this woman taking what sounds like Class C meds so she can cope with her stress from work, so just calm down your judgement. I'm thinking that her Dr. probably prescribed her those meds and say that the harm from not taking them outweighs any potential risk. Just own it, Ou, own it.

P.S. I do think the whole dog pee thing is gross.

Meh, I think whether a mother opts for a risky amnio/test or takes drugs that aren't 100% safe in her pregnancy, that's ALL her right.
I don't judge women for doing what they need to and assuming risks they want to during pregnancy. It's her body. And I wouldn't know what the woman's issues are so, wouldn't go there.

I however, judge anyone who wants to come home to rank dog pee on their rug. That's nasty.

Ok, look, OU and I have gotten into our share of snarkfests on this board ... but I think you're going a little far.  Calling someone out for testing to make sure their babies are healthy and for spelling mistakes is just plain silly.  If I had to go through HALF of whats shes had to go through to have babies, I would be doing every.single.test out there as well to vouch for their safety and health.  ::shrugs::
