kiddie cocktail recipes?

We are having some friends over this weekend (with children). I thought I'd do one-two kid drinks.

Any kiddie cocktail suggestions? (Kids are all ages up to about 8 yrs.)

I'll do a shirley temple. Any decent recipes that maybe don't have a ton of sugar?

  • what about fruit smoothies in one of those fancy plastic cocktail glass like a margarita glass or a dauquiri glass complete with those little umbrella thingies and fancy wacky straw.

  • Aren't kiddie Cocktails just sprite and maraschino cherry juice?  How about seltzer water and cherry juice then?

  • We call it stawberry slushies.  I don't know.  I sort of made it up myself with what we had in the house one day, but it's good.

I make a syrup out of the Countrytime strawberry lemonade mix and water.  I use the powder up to the 1 quart line and then add just enough water to make it the syrup consistency.  In the blender, throw in some ice, fresh strawberries, and then add however much syrup you need to make it drinkable.

This is also an awesome fresh strawberry lemonade recipe.  I use ginger ale instead of the sparkling water.  https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/emeril-lagasse/strawberry-lemonade-recipe/index.html
