If I'm going to bake cakes tonight and frost tomorrow night

If I bake cakes tonight, should I just cover them in saran wrap until tomorrow night when I can frost them?  Anything else I should do?

I have to make 6 cakes for my sister's bridal shower on Saturday, but I only have time in the evening after work.  I'm trying to figure out what's going to be easiest.

I usually cover with a towel.

i would definitely wrap them. maybe put them in the freezer so they'll be easier to ice as well.

I would put them in the cooled oven so they stay fresh (the door sort of seals them in).

If you use Saran wrap, make sure to let them cool BEFORE you wrap them, otherwise they can get soggy.  Another option is to use a towel or tin foil to cover them after they have cooled a bit.

Yup.

First just make sure the cake is completely and utterly cooled before doing anything. Then wrap it like crazy to prevent any air getting in (I've wrapped 4 times to get all sides). You might even want to do a foil wrap over the saran. In the end, this makes for an even moister cake!

ETA: This is what they told us to do in our Wilton cake classes I let my cakes cool for 2hrs.
