Pregnant after a Loss

BP question... cankles mentioned....

so I have permanent cankles... which I can live with... but the problem is that the toes on my right foot are purple... like look like I have frost bite purple.

They also look like vienna sausagesIck!

I don't know if I should freak enough to hunt down someone to check my bp or just try to get out of here and home to prop these puppies up asap.

My general doctor is closed today... so I can't swing in there, and my peri is an hour away.. which limits my day of progress which I need so badly to not be a freak.....

Hmmmm????

  • Purple toes are never good. I would definitely get them propped up at the least...

  • I agree, purple is a color that should not be seen unless you have some crazy toenail polish on!

Go home, drink water and prop those puppies up!

*Glad to see you... I was about to put a Missing Buddy Ad out on you!

  • I'd def call the doc if you have purple toes!

  • Can you prop your feet up while at work and see if that helps?  I would probably call your peri though, even if it is an hour away.

  • I would go to Walgreens or CVS or the grocery store and use the BP machine by the pharmacy to get an idea of what your BP is.  Then, try to keep your feet elevated. :)

  • I talked to my Dr yesterday. He said swelling is caused from your kidneys, which are a bit higher than some people realize in the back. He said just sitting there with your feet up is okay, but the best way for the kidneys to get rid of fluid is by laying down. Any upright position will cause swelling. The kidneys have sensors telling them when they are laying down, causing the dumping of the water. So try and lie down as much as possible, just kicking up the feet won't help get rid of the liquid very much, or that's what my Dr. says. BUT...I would be a little concerned about purple toes!
