So, Gap has always been my go-to store for all things pants and jeans. I can order 12-longs in jeans or khakis and be 100% confident that they will fit perfectly in length and waist.
Well, I must say that I am super dissapointed in Gap's maternity khakis. The jeans are great - I have 2 pairs of the Long and Lean maternity jeans in 12-long and I will definitly have plenty of growing room. The khakis are a different story.
So far, I have ordered 3 different styles of khakis in 12-long. They seem to fit good in the waist (big, but thats for room to grow), but the length is awful. They are all a full 2 inches too short. I thought maybe they sent me the wrong length, but the label says 12-Long. I thought it was a mislabel on the first pair, but now after 3 pairs I am beginning to think their quality control on khakis are realy lacking.
I give up on Gap khakis. I am waiting on a pair of Old Navy khakis (I'm not getting my hopes up for ON, they never fit me right) as my final act of desperation.
Where can I get khakis that are long enough?! I am down to one pair of my fat pants that I can comfortably wear, and I don't like the idea of wearing those 5 days in a row every week.
Sorry so long. I feel desperate.
Re: Jess, a question (and any other tall moms or Gap lovers)
I am am very glad you asked this question. With DD, I wore a lot of shorts and dresses/skirts because no one made maternity pants long enough back then.
::sits down to wait for an answer::
I'm not necessarily required to wear khakis, its just what I wear. We just can't wear jeans.
I may have to try out the dress pants. I have never been a dress pant fan - I don't know fashion and I dress to be comfortable and most dress pants I try aren't that comfortable to me. Plus, I don't have cute shoes to wear with dress pants (most of my shoes consist of Clarks).
Hey, I'm open to anything at this point. I will give them a try. Thanks, banc.
Sorry this is getting back to you so late ginifred.
I too loathe Gap khakis sizing. Loathe. It. And that wasn't just for maternity wear either. I've never liked them. Unfortunately I never did find a pair of maternity khakis that I was in love with. I did however like their dress pants.
Also, for a cheaper way out and perhaps if you aren't adverse to flats check out Target's maternity pants. I had a few pairs I lived in for work.
