Its high, as you know. I think I would do a 12 hour fasting test before I made any decisions about meds, etc. Meanwhile, there are lots of things he can do to lower his levels. Does heart disease run in his family?
I had outrageous triglycerides. When I got that test done I was already on my way to losing weight. I kept going and exercising and losing weight and by the time I was re-tested my levels were great. I went on Crestor for a while and then asked to go off of them. I see my cardiologist next week and I'll be tested again.
My dad died of heart disease when he was 39 so I have to take it pretty seriously. It is my understanding that drug/lifestyle change can bring numbers down.

Oh God, I am so sorry :-(
thanks. yeah, and apparently, per my cardy, "I have his blood" -- cheerful! But my numbers look great and I go every six months to be monitored blood-wise, have baseline heart work, etc.
DH's were really high last year. They sent him back in a few months later and they were fine. I don't know if it had anything to do with it, but he ate a ton of shrimp the night before. And I mean a ton.
Re: Does anyone know anything about Triglycerides?

No, no heart disease or anything like that.
His LDL's (Low Density Lipoproteins) are over 400 as well. do they go hand in hand?
OOps, I take it back, i read it wrong. It says the results are invalid when the TRIG is over 400.
