The ultra sound went well. Lily is now weighs 5lbs. 8oz. She is measuring in the 35th percentile. 5 weeks ago she was in the 50th percentile though, but I was told this was still good.
On the other hand with the NST, that's a long story. I got there and they started my NST. When the nurse came back to check up on me I knew that LO was sleeping pretty much the whole time and they were getting the readings they wanted. After my u/s I went up to L&D.
They had me on the monitor with the NST for almost an hour and a half! Maybe a little less, but I was there for 2 hours.
Again, she just kept on falling asleep. I drank 2 glasses of OJ and a piece of chocolate. The first nurse thought after about 40 minutes everything looked good. She tore the paper and then went out to get a second opinion. She came back and said sorry you need to stay on longer they need more reaction times. Then after being on the monitor for over an hour the other nurse got too excited and she said the monitor gave her the green light and I was good to go. She then took everything off cleaned me up and said she was going to get the paperwork for me.
A few minutes later she came back and said that she was sorry, but the monitor she was looking at was the women next to me and she was cleared and mine said that I wasn't done yet. She looked over the paper and the screen and really though everything was good just like the other nurse.
She then went to check with the doctor to see if I needed a BPP or to see if the NST looked good. The doctor then said everything looked good and to send me home. She knew I was going to be at the OB office tomorrow and back for an NST on Friday.
Finally I got released. Everything is good. I just have lots of questions for my doctor tomorrow. I need to also check to see if maybe they should do my NST's in L&D for now on because the doctors office only schedules 30 minute appointments. I go already to L&D once a week for these, why not just go twice if they are going to have to keep on sending me up there because I need a longer amount of time for monitoring.
I'm also thinking they are going to schedule an u/s weekly and maybe start doing weekly BPP's we will see tomorrow.
Thank you for listening. I'm just really tired. It was so long and of course I started to get worried after awhile that something was wrong with LO.
I don't need to worry so much or my BP will go up. Which we do not need right now. Just let her stay in 3 more weeks I ask and prayer for. Then LO will be 38 weeks and 2 days. She is already looking like she will be a good size.
Re: Follow up to NST and Growth u/s today...(long)
Wow- it sounds like it was a real production. Hopefully they'll just let you go to L&D in the future and that will cut out one part of it.
Sending good vibes for 3 more weeks of cooking little Lily!
I know. It felt like a real production and it is frustrating.
I'm hoping when I talk to my OB she will tell me just to schedule the appointments at L&D for now on.
