2nd Trimester

Please tell me I'm not alone!!

So, last night while I was dealing with my insomnia, I got acid reflux. This time was a little different from my past experiences with it and it was FAR worse. Not only did I feel like I was going to start choking on acid every time I would breathe, but every few minutes I would get this bubble of pressure that slowly moved up my throat and once it reached my mouth, my bottom back teeth would hurt. It wasn't gas, because I didn't burp and I'm pretty sure no acid came up with it. It literally felt like a ball of pressure slowly moving up and then would radiate through the back of my tongue and my bottom back teeth. I plan on calling the OB on call this afternoon (since this all took place between like 2-5AM and I just woke up. But I wanted to see if I was a freak and the only one to experience this. TIA!

  • I get those crazy gas bubbles and I can feel them moving all the way up.  its pretty gross.  I just took a tums and I was fine.  I heard its normal.  If you are concerned def call your ob though.

  • I've been getting TERRIBLE acid reflux for the past few weeks now; it gets so bad that I start choke/gagging and my throat feels like it's on fire. I finally got a big thing of Tums to help out b/c it's not just when I eat, nor is it if I eat something specific (though it can make it worse). It comes on when I lay down, slouch on the couch watching tv, if I haven't eaten......pretty much any time. And if I lay down and the baby is moving around a lot........Sleep
