I submit my #s weekly to the MFM office and today they are going to try me on 10mg of glyburide a day, 5mg am and 5mg pm.
The nurse said some people are just resistant to meds and the next resort is insulin. I'm really nervous nothing is working. I follow the diet, I eat 3 meals and I I have to eat 4 snacks a day because we don't get home to eat dinner until 7pm and I leave the house by 730am. I have to eat every 2-3hrs or I'm famised (even with a ton of protein)
Anyone else need to keep increasing their meds? Is insulin stronger or better than glyburide?
Re: MFM increasing my meds yet again :(
I don't know if the insulin is any better or stronger than the glyburide but it is more natural than any pill.
If I have to go on meds they are automatically putting me on insulin.
Hopefully the new dosage with your diet will help.

My MFM's office will automatically put GD patients on insulin if there numbers indicate the need for medication, since they say it is more effective. Are you okay with the insulin shots? If so, it might be worth switching to see if you can get your numbers under control.
I also need to eat every 2-3 hours (I'm not on meds) to keep my hunger under control (I eat every 4 hours at night) so you are not alone in that regard.
Is it possible for you to pack up your dinner with you in the morning so you can eat dinner instead of snack around 6 or so? It might help with your hunger.
