2nd Trimester

Anyone with thyroid issues, please come in!

I had my thyroid removed a while ago and I am on synthroid.  My dose was increased once at 8 weeks and has remained the same dose since then.  I thought that I would have to increase my dose so much more often, but my TSH and T4 numbers have looked good, even more towards the hyperthyroid side with the last blood test results.  Has anyone else experienced this?

  • I only had to have it changed once while pregnant with DD. I have had it increased twice so far this pregnancy and I get it checked again next week.  :)

  • I've been hypothyroid for a few years and right around getting pregnant, I started Synthroid.  I have to get bloodwork done every month to check my levels and I haven't had to have it increased once.  I'm always surprised because prior to pregnancy my levels were adjusted a lot.  And I lost quite a bit of weight-18 lbs since getting pregnant.

The only thing I can think of is that it's the synthroid working and my endocrinologist insists on not getting a generic.  I'm happy it's doing its job!
