We used DHs first name for DS1s middle name and DHs middle name for DS2s first name, that way they are both named after dad. I agree with pp, that if you name one after family it would be nice to name the other one after family too.

I like using middle names to honor someone -- that is what we did with our boys (Griffin's middle = Ellison, after my grandfather, Gray's is "mayer" part of my maiden name, and Gibby's is "matthew" after Dh's dad and brother).
don't stress so much about what it sounds like with the first name- after the birth announcments are sent out- you will rarely see/say the middle names again
I like Frankie Reinaldo, I think Frankie Rey is too 50s.
I'm a bit confused though, who's name is Frankie right now? Yours? I think it would be very fair to name one twin after the mom and her side of the family and the other after the dad and his side of the family, but if only one boy gets the father's name and the other gets just a "cool" name, that may backfire in the future.
Re: Ladies want to help...need a middle name
So your name is Frankie and you're going to be naming one of your twin sons Frankie. Yes? You're just looking for a middle name?
Since the other twin will get his dad's names, how about using a family name of Frankie's middle name? Like, your dad's name or middle name?
Sorry, yup..confused that one...yes.. one twin will be Frankie, the other Anthony.
My dads name is Reinaldo, Rey for short.
Frankie Rey?
I think with an informal sounding name like Frankie, the formal version of Reinaldo sounds better.
My twins are 5! My baby is 3!
DS#2 - Allergic to Cashew, Pistachio, Kiwi
DS#3 - Allergic to Milk, Egg, Peanut, Tree Nuts and Sesame
I actually really like Frankie Rey.

Me, too.
Frankie Rey sounds more like a Southern double name to me.
lol-I think that's cute!
"Did yous guys hear who came to the soda shop looking to rumble? Johnnie and Frankie Rey!"
