tmi...Vaginal Itching

So I have had a consistent itch down there. I don;t have a YI or abnormal discharge. Does anyone have this too or know what I can do about it. I see my Dr. on Fri and will obviously bring it up but I am going crazy here!!

If you give more details maybe we can help. I usually associate itching with a YI.

I would say YI too because when I get  them and the only symptom is itching....no discharge.

well i don't know what all of your symptoms are but, i have the same situation going on....it almost feels like i have a YI but on the out side on the actual lips part (sorry TMI)...i spoke to my OBGYN about it and she said that you should try to keep that area as dry as possible...with the increased discharge, it is hard to do that, but try your best...she also suggested maybe using a small amount of powder...

 

i don't know if this helps, but it is just what i've been going through!

its dry skin from hormones changing.  The Dr told me unscented lotion or Vagisil.  HTH!

I had this with my last pregnancy, and didn't consider it a YI since I had those before and this was a different kind of it...  I waited over a month to tell my Dr.  stupid me, it was a YI!!!  They will most likely tell you to use the OTC 3 day treatments...

Exactly...it is external only!! Glad to know I am not alone. I am 95% sure it isn't a  yeast infection. 

It is driving me crazy and I have NO desire to have sex!

pre-pregnancy i had an itchy crotch once that was finally diagnosed as a UTI...3 trips to the doctor later.  i didn't have any regular UTI symptoms.  but...they'll check for that at the dr. when you go anyway.

 Good to know...I have a Dr appt on Friday until then I might try vagisal.

Yup. Same here. I saw my doctor on Friday. She has been very conservative in both her evaluation and treatment of the itch. She hasn't even done any tests/swabs on it, because all I'm reporting is itch with no abnormal discharge or smell. She did prescribe a cortisone cream after I reported it for three visits in a row. She said vaginal itching during pregnancy is pretty common and is most likely yeast related. But that it is not their practice to prescribe much for this unless it is a full blown infection (with all the symptoms).

I had itching like crazy and some burning after sex all through the first tri. There was no discharge, but my doctor did a swab and it showed positive for yeast anyways. I tried to treat it 3 times and it still wouldn't go away. Looks like I'm in the clear for the 4th time so far!

Do you know for sure that its not yeast? I was surprised you could still have a YI without the discharge. I would talk to your doctor and see what he/she says. If its just itching, maybe try the Vagisil or something like that... GL, Itching is the worst!!
