Okay ladies, we all know it can be super hard finding cute boy clothes. I am having trouble with a "coming home outfit". I dont want a sports team thing- I want somethine cute and serene. Any ideas? Also, I have no idea what size to buy. He may be here early. Guess I can just buy a premie one (if I can find it) and a newborn one (he would be able to wear it later if he came early). I know it is a small detail and I will probably look back and wonder why I put so much thought into it - but I want something cute dang it!
We put our LO in a cute sleeper with matching jacket and hat. It was cute and warm. We actually got good use out of the sleeper for a few weeks after he came home, too.
I got cute 3 piece outfits from JCPenney.com (Carter's brand) that were pants, onsie and jacket/cardigan. They were only $10 each, warm, and could be easily reused over and over as long as they can fit in them. I got newborn size since that's 5-8lbs in Carter's, which we could expect at this point. Carter's also has a lot of the same outfits in preemie in the store.
DS coming home outfit was so huge on him, it really didn't matter what was on it. He was a preemie and I didn't have time to go out and get a different size before he was released from the hospital. It was cute though with a lion on it and it was also fun on his 1 month birthday to put him in the outfit to see how much he grew.
Just FYI about preemie outfits, they run in all different sizes. Some preemie things I had were bigger then newborn clothes I had. Others were so small they never fit him.
DS was 4lbs 9oz when he was born.
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

We got a really cute sleeper with a matching hat/newborn cap. I wanted to put him in something cozy comfy instead of dressing him up. I got it at Macys, check them out they have adorable stuff and reasonably priced on sale.
Since I was like you, and on bedrest, i knew I would have a preemie. We went to BRU and found a nice 3 piece preemie outfit and a newborn outfit not knowing how big he would be. Since he was only 5 lb. 10oz., we went with the preemie outfit and it was big on him! I couldn't imagine what the newborn outfit would have looked like. Here is a pic of DS wearing his outfit. I had opened up the jacket so we could see the cute onesie underneath.
Re: Boy take home outfit ideas
Henry peed all over his coming home outfit 10 minutes before we left
I found it at Gymboree, it was cute, white with pea pods on it.
I'm always partial to a traditional Feltman Brothers...I love the little blue outfits for boys....

I am thankful every day for my miracle after infertility.
And thrilled to be pregnant again after FET!
Echoing Radler, I would recommend checking out department stores like Nordstrom, Macys, etc. Here is a cute outfit from Nordstrom:

I suggest getting a matching sleeper and little baby hat. You will want your baby to be comfy:)
I had a onesie for Reed and socks that were newborn and still came up past his knees. He was so little and cute!
I made Penny a dress.
