Digital thermometers and low readings

How do you take LOs temp? When he was in the nicu the nurses took Logan's under his arm. Whenever I take my temp under my arm with a digital, it reads 97.6 or something low like that. Tonight LOs temp under his arm it read 98.8, which seems like a normal temp, except that my temp reads 97.6. Does this mean he has a temp, or is it normal? Either way I'm calling the ped tomorrow, but I was hoping to get some answers from other moms tonight.

It is probaby a little higher (I think off by about 1 degree) but in LOs this small it isn't considered a "real" fever until it is over 100.4 and it isn't off by that much as long as you are putting the probe all the way into LOs underarm. Double check with the ped in the morning but I wouldn't worry unless is keeps going up.
