2nd Trimester

Possible hospital trip...

I haven't felt the baby kick since yesterday in the afternoon. I've felt nothing, and I have a very active LO in there... My physician said I should feel the baby kick or at least a flutter, every five hours. I have had cold drinks, a bath(Usually makes LO go crazy), small meals, and DH talk to him... Still nothing. We're gonna wait a bit longer while I lay down with my feet propped up. I tried my hardest to relax. At this point I can't. Waiting on DH to get home then heading out...

  • T&P's.  I hope he/she just tuckered themselves out and is taking a well deserved nap :-)
  • Good luck, i'm sure everything is okay but I would want to know too! T&P to all three of you!
  • I actually find it odd your doc gave you a time of how often you should feel LO. Every baby is different! So many women on here have talked about feeling LO a ton all the time and then nothing for days...and then POW, right in the kisser, they're at it again. Unless you just really enjoy the ER, I personally would stay home. If you haven't had cramping or bleeding or a fall, etc. something of alarm other than not feeling LO kicking, fluttering, etc., I'd wait it out or call your doc. The answering service should have a way to reach him/her so you can speak with them. GL!

I agree, I thought you were supposed to really feel anything constant until about 28 weeks?

But I do hope everything is OK no matter what you decide to do! T&P

  • T & P to you. Keep us updated.
  • Come on people.. tell me if you hadn't felt your baby move in almost 24 hours that you wouldn't be heading to L&D too.  She doesn't have to go to the ER, she can go to L&D where they can at least hook her up to a monitor.  Please go.  It really could be nothing.. but it could be something too so better safe than sorry in my opinion.  Don't listen to other people who don't know what you are feeling.  If something is different and you feel like it is wrong definitely call your doctor and go in.  Give me a break people, this is her baby here.

    Ditto!

  • Have you been super busy? My doctor said that sometimes you may not think the baby is active when he/she is.

Also, my doctor said regular movement isn't really counted until about 28 weeks and not to worry if the little one has a day of rest. She has two of them every week and then grows. I bet you anything your up a lb. in the morning because someone is growing.

I know it's hoorrible...but caffeine might be your friend right now. Just for reassurance. Have a mug and see what happens. Up to 2 8oz cus a day is ok by my doctor.

Thoughts and prayers are with you. Please post and let us know how things are going.

  • I myself stress myself out if i dont feel my boy kick for awhile! but just lay on your side drink some juice and that should do it
