Sick or wanting attention?

Olivia is so fussy today.  She is crying a lot and that's not like her. I'm off of work today and the only time she'll settle down is when I'm holding her. I'm still trying to figure out if she's not feeling well of just wanting attention. I've laid her down for a nap twice today and within 5 mins she's screaming like she's in pain. She doesn't feel feverish.

Moms, any suggestions??

3 month growth spurt? Is she hungry? Sometimes dd just needs to nurse to be soothed.

Yeah, probably a growth spurt, she's been wanting to eat every 2 1/2 hours today.

Growth spurt. We just got through one as well.

Could be an ear infection, or maybe just needing attention. The not wanting to be laid down sounds ear infection-ish to me. That was one of the main clues when Logan had his first one. It can't hurt to take her in to get checked out. Logan was in last week for an infection, but yesterday I thought it was back so instead of waiting till our follow up next week DH took him today. Good thing because he has 2 ear infections. Don't hold off going for fear of being "that mom", because if it is something - your baby will be suffering because of your fears, KWIM? I used to be afraid to go in or call a lot, but when it comes to my baby I dont hold off anymore. Better to go in and have them say everything is fine than wait and it not be fine.

ETA: He is now on his 3rd ear infection(s), and he has not had a fever either time. So not having a fever doesn't really mean everything is okay.
