I know we are old enough to remember the original!  It was my fave movie when I was a little kid.  I can't wait to see it!

I used to watch it over and over. It was on HBO a lot. Great movie.

I'm torn - I love the movie, but the cheese factor is what made it so great.  I'm afraid the new one will not have enough cheese...

This is the first movie I theater hopped into since I wasn't allowed to see it and it was my favorite too. I remembered it being *awesome* then I rented it and was laughing the whole time because we thought was soooo amazing at the time - and I am sure it was... I don't mind remakes because it's not like you can't get the original version anymore.

I honestly don't remember the original, although I know I've seen it.  I've probably only seen it once, though.

I saw the original one (with Harry Hamlin) in the theaters. I was 11, apparently (came out in 1981). I remember LOVING the movie. Especially that mechanical owl that Hephaestus made for Athena to give Perseus instead of HER owl.

If you check out the original cast, it was packed with talent.  Too bad the movie was somewhat hokey. Sir Laurence Olivier. Maggie Smith. Burgess Meredith. 

I think Sam Worthington is great (loved him in both Termniator: Salvation and Avatar) and look forward to seeing him as Perseus.  My only quibble with the new casting... Perseus is supposed to be an innocent youth, thrust into his new life from Hera's jealousy. Sam is not youthful at all.
