My dd's birthday is coming up and I think I want to do cupcakes for her birthday (but a cake would be fine too). We are thinking of a ladybug theme. I live in Benicia and my parents live in Sac so either is fine. I want something cute without being super expensive. If you know actual prices (or an idea of prices) that is so helpful too. Any ideas? Thanks!
Re: Bakery recs in Sac or East Bay
Le Gateau Elegant in Martinez!!!
Also, Rosanna's bakery in Benicia isn't too bad either. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but they make a really good Swedish Princess cake (vanilla/custard/raspberry). https://www.rosannascakes.com/
I live in Sacramento and researched a lot of bakeries for my wedding last year. I know that Babycakes in Sacramento makes delicious cupcakes, although I'm not sure of the prices: https://www.babycakessacramento.com/
and also Ettore's in Sacramento makes wonderful, gourmet cakes. I think most of them generally run about $30 a cake (depending on the size you want), and the Strawberry White Chocolate Mousse is especially good! https://www.ettores.com/index.php
Good luck!

Lurking! Another vote for Freeport bakery in Sac.
Also, my niece had a ladybug theme party a couple of years ago. We bought live ladybugs and let the kids release them in the backyard. It was a huge hit with the kids. You can find them in nurseries. We bought ours at Emigh Hardware in Sacramento.
Le Gateaux did our wedding cake, awesome. Totally awesome.
Freeport is amazing as well... I jsut went to a shower with a Freeport cake and it was AMAZING!
Sounds like you got some good recs! Good luck!
