I never had contractions until labor with DD, so I'm not sure if what I'm experiencing is false or real. My water broke at home, so that was a clear sign to go into the hospital
I lost my plug yesterday, had bloody show last night and have had contractions (all in the lower uterus area) through the day/night yesterday. They are 5-7 minutes apart and my belly area is sore where they happen.
My instincts tell me that this feels just like early labor with my DD, but am not sure. Have some of you experienced days of this before actually going into L&D?
I'm waiting on my doc. to call me back now to see if I stay or go to L&D.
Re: Moms - go to L&D or not?
I'll say this-
When it's time to go to the hospital- it won't be a question at all. For me, there was no bumping and I didn't give two hoots WHAT the doc said to do when I finally did call him. I knew it was time to go.
Good luck either way!!!
This. I am also in support of laboring at home for as long as possible.
I will also add that with my second I had early labor symptoms for about a month before she was born. At times it would seem to start up and then fade away. I had uncomfortable timeable contractions throughout the month, but I could still totally function through them. When labor actually did start it happened super fast and there was no mistaking it.
Doc called back and told me to go into office to get checked when they opened at 8:30.
I went in at 8:45 and was 6 cm and water had a slow leak
Had baby at 11:31 a.m.
I can't believe how mild the early labor was and how FAST the 2nd stage and transition was. Yikes!
