last year there was no lottery, the whole entire world just logged on at the same time to claim tickets. it was complete clusterfvck. i know easily 100 people who tried to log on, half of them couldn't even get the page to load and only a handful actually got tickets.

make that 102 as my co-w and I tried all day long, the servers kept crashing, what a mess!

I think the luster of Obama has worn off a bit and since it's not his 1st yr, it might be easier to get tix this year, as there will be less people who are too far from DC applying *hopefully!
