What type & size clothes?

Just wondering what type of clothed worked best for your preemies? How long did they wear the preemie size before moving up to newborn sizes? I realize it's different for every baby but I'm just trying to get an idea.I'm hoping to make it to 35 weeks but I want to get a few outfits in case that doesn't happen. Thanks in advance!

One piece sleepers were most convenient for us for the longest time.  Many (although definitely not all) preemies go home one monitors so outfits with zippers won't work.  Stick to outfits with snaps!

 Carters preemie clothes worked best for us, b/c preemies aren't usually chunky and the Carters clothes were long and thin.

We got a couple of preemie Carter's sleepers from Wal-mart, just to have on hand.

We had a 35 weeker and were able to just put him in Newborn clothes and roll up the sleeves.  His feet weren't really in the foot holes, but it worked.  We didn't know he was coming early so we didn't really have any preemie clothes.

The sleep and plays were the easiest though for monitors in the NICU and diaper changes once we were home.

I agree with the one piece sleepers w/ snaps.  We had a heck of a time getting any socks to stay on my DS's little feet. 

 How long he wore the preemie stuff depended on the brand.  He outgrew the Carter's preemie stuff first, around 5/6 lbs.  He outgrew the Janie and Jack preemie stuff last, maybe up to 8.5 lbs.

I think Simon wore some preemie stuff until 6-7lbs., depending on the brand.  Then we moved him up to NB, which lasted until 10lbs-ish.

LO outgrew her Gerber stuff before she came home (newborn size) at 5.5 lbs.  She wore Carter's preemie stuff for a few weeks and then moved up to the newborn size at around 7 lbs.  She's pretty long, so she always outgrew stuff through the length before the gut.
