We have our first counseling appointment this evening

Little nervous---then this morning I said something to DH about what we were going to do with Ryleigh and apparently he forgot we had the appointment so now he is acting all weird about it and stuff.  He has been sick all week so probably does not feel like going but I have had the appointment for over a week now so not going to change it.  I guess we are just going to have to take Ryleigh with us---do you guys think that is ok?

This!  But if you have to take her, go ahead, don't cancel the appt. I know it will be difficult but you both will be incredibly glad you did this.  Thinking of you!

I would try to find someone to watch her.  I know I have a hard time listening when I have to watch Gabe at the same time.  Although it might be easier since R isn't mobile yet.  If you absolutely have to take her, maybe take her playmat or something that will keep her quiet/occupied for longer amounts of time?

Good luck!  I'm sure it won't be the first time people have taking a baby to an apmt.

I just wanted to say that I am very happy that you made an appointment.  I sensed your stress last week and it made me feel very sad for you.  

And while it would be great to find a sitter, don't stress.  The therapist might find watching the two of you interact with the baby very telling.

Thank you all.  His parents could probably watch her but he doesn't want to let them know we are going to counseling at this point so that makes it difficult to leave her there.
