Babies on the Brain

Do you take your new baby out in the snow?

I really need to go walking today but it's snowing. I can cover Owen up for the most part and have a snowsuit that fits but I worry his face gets too cold. Would you take him out in this for an hour or so or not?

Re: Do you take your new baby out in the snow?

  • I don't live in a cold climate, but I wouldn't take him out for as long as an hour.  15-20 minutes would be the max if you were actually outside the whole time.

  • Probably not at his age.  Unless he was asleep and you could cover him with a blanket, including his face.  But that's just me.

Also, I wanted to tell you, I have the Paraguard IUD.  I got it at 7 weeks PP.  I had a bit of cramping as she was inserting it and that was it.  I spotted that day and that was my only spotting.  Other than that it's been really good to me.  I have occasional cramping, but I haven't had a PP AF yet, so I have no idea if it's cramping because of the IUD or because my body is gearing up.  I'm also still BFing, so it's a crap shoot to know what the mild cramping is from.  I think you will like it, so good luck!

thanks! I think I'm going to give it a try. I guess I will have my mom come over to babysit so I can go walking today.
  • Yeah not this early. Definitely leave him with your mom and have some time to yourself! Enjoy your walk.
  • Definately get out and walk, it'll make you feel much better!  Or maybe take him out with you for 20 minutes twice instead of one long hour walk?

I have been doing this but need a longer walk so I can work on building back up to running at some point.

Well then I doubt you'll have to twist your Mom's arm to come over and snuggle that sweet grandbaby of hers ;)  Enjoy your time out!

  • Yes I took Ryleigh out and she was about 1 month and 1/2 old but only stayed out about 15 o 20 min.  We took snow pictures etc and she has a bunting from babygap.
  • I didn't.  Olivia makes grunting noises when she's cold or it's windy ha ha.
