Exersaucer or Jumperoo?

Ideally, I'd like both for variety sake but I can only budget one or the other at the moment....

Which does your LOs like the most?

Also, my girls are almost 4 mo. --is this the time to buy it or is it too early for them to use?

Thanks

Re: Exersaucer or Jumperoo?

  • we don't have a jumperoo, but my girls LOVE having an exersaucer!!! make sure it is the kind that really lets them bounce. mine may have been too small at 4 months. about 5 months they would have been able to use it, but they were getting one for christmas (6 months old then) from my MIL. you could get an exersaucer and then get a johnny jump up-- those are only around $20 i think. OR-- do you have a resale shop near you? if you get the items used, you could get both.
  • we have both, but they love the jumperoo so much more! :-)
  • Loading the player...
  • id get a jumperoo that has a lot of toys on it...then its kinda like both in one.

  • i  have both. I think the exersaucer got used more in my house. My son had PT once a week and they told me to stay away from Jumper with him because it isn't good for their legs

  • WQe have 2 jumperoos and one exersaucer.  They love the jumpers.  We have the FP Laugh and Learn and they really like it.

  • Exersaucer only for us in a month or so when they are big enough.  Our physical therapist poo-pooed the jumparoo because it teaches them to put their toes against the floor instead of their flat feet like an exersaucer does.  And we only have room for one anyway so that's how we'll be going :)
  • We have one of each and my babies perfer the exersaucer.  I think it's because it may have more to do though.

You'll see that it's about 50/50 in this post what babies prefer.  It's like the swing, both my babies hated it!  You just have to get one and try it out.  Our therapists were against both exersaucer and jumperoo claiming it's not good for learning to walk, messes up their posture.  I'll take my chances.  Everyone I know that has either of these for their babies have babies that walked!

  • Exersaucers are all we use, it is funny though my dd never really liked either but the boys LOVE the exersaucer.
