Monterey Nesties recommend places to eat and visit

My mom mentioned she like to go to the aquarium, so I am going to surprise her and take her. Need recommendation on other places to visit and eat.

    If it's a clear day take a drive through pebble beach (17 mile dive) I believe it costs about 8 dollars at the gate.

    Point Lobos is also beautiful.

    The wharf is good for different restaurants and souvenir shops, although as a local I never eat there.I believe there are also a lot of sightseeing options down there as well, bike rentals, boat tours, etc.

    I enjoy some of the restaurants along Alvarado. IMO the places to eat on Cannery Row are kind of a tourist trap. Overpriced.

    Carmel-by-the-Sea is also a nice place to visit. Ocean Ave. has a ton of shops and nice restaurants. It ends down at the beach which has views of Pebble Beach.

    Oh, and obviously the aquarium, but you already mentioned that. :) Have fun.

    We will be staying over night at the Best Western Beach Inn, its right on the beach. I got a great room for us. Maybe we can meet while we are there if you are feeling up to it.
