okie dokie. So i got another U/S yesterday because DD was measuring pretty big @ 30 weeks. @ 30 weeks, she was 4 lbs, 2 oz. 36 weeks (not even technically, because 36 weeks is THURSDAY) she was 8 LBS 3 OZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am hoping that they are WRONG, but nonetheless, the doctor allowed me to be scheduled for an induction on 3/11. that is exactly 2 weeks before her due date and my 4 year wedding anniversary.
So here's to the possibility of a 9 lb. baby... oy vey.
Re: holy moly! 36 week u/s.
If it eases your mind a bit, they estimated my son to be 8 lbs at 36.5 weeks. When he was delivered at 39 weeks, he was 8 lbs 1 oz.
Then again, my friend got a similar estimate, and she did indeed have a 9 lb baby.
Wow, that is a big baby. My doctor guessed last week that my LO is 7.5 - 8 and said she doesn't want me to go past my due date because I am short waisted with relatively narrow hips and would have a tough time if I went too long.
Wishing you a smooth delivery.

18 cycles (3 with our RE) - Metformin + Clomid + HCG booster did the trick!

Eloise measured 9.5lbs at 36 weeks. 2 weeks later she was born (c/s after failed induction) at 8lb 1oz. I wish I had not let them induce me BUT I was no where near ready - my cervix was high and closed up tight even after 2 days of cervadil. I also found out that their estimates tend to be high especially when you have a long baby. Both of mine were 21" so they always measured big in the u/s guesses.
both of my kiddos were big and we induced each time 2 weeks early. when we did the 36 week u/s, my son was 8lbs and then at the 2wk early mark he was 8lb 10oz. you can do it though, i was a firm believer in that my body would not make a baby i couldn't handle to deliver. one piece of advice i'd give, with my first i was so excited and ready to push, thinking pushing meant here comes baby. so, i ended up not be completely ready and pushed for 3 hours. with my second, we waited an hour more before pushing and "labored down" as they called it and it was 15 min of pushing and out he came.
GOOD LUCK, you can do it!
