I need some hair help

I want to make a change but I don't know what to do.  I would like your input oh wise BOTB. 

My hair issues/info.  I have very long (hits below my bra strap in back) , very straight, thin dark brown hair. I have a cowlick slightly to the right of center (above the inside corner of my right eye) on my hairline so my hair is parted there. 

I will not color my hair and I do not want to go shorter than my shoulders but what should I do?

I will try and take some cell pics and upload them but I'm testing my kids right now so that could look very weird!

Are you willing to have layers that are above your shoulders?  What products do you use?

I think we have the same hair, down to the cowlick. Except I am always cutting mine off.

I always prefer it two ways - either a couple inches below my shoulder or about chin length. I love layers, they help with volume. 

I don't know more than that because my hair looks the same no matter how I cut it. Sorry I'm not more help.

Without seeing a picture my first thought is just past the shoulder with long layers.
