Need a FANTASTIC DCP gift for our teacher. Ideas?

My boys are moving up to the next class which means one of our favorite teachers is transitioning back to the infant room.  I can't tell you how sad we are to lose her.

I need a really nice gift and some way to show her how thankful we are to have had her care for our boys for the past two years. Ideas?

Depending on how much you want to spend, a gift certificate for a spa day or fancy dinner out is always a great gift. I also love to send delicious treats from Williams Sonoma - they are so indulgent and something people would never buy for themselves. Another go-to gift is a pretty vase with fresh flowers - that can be pretty inexpensive if you get the vase at Marshall's or TJ Maxx and arrange the flowers yourself.

Coffee gift card?!? I am a DCP teacher and those are much appreciated. Maybe a nice pic of your lo's? another teacher was upset when she didnt recieve a xmas card of one of the kids.

Definitely a gift card, but I think it would be great if it were packaged with something either homemade from the boys or with their photo.

Can you ask someone else where would be a good place for a gift card? DS's teacher loves to read and is in a book club, so Barnes and Noble is a win. She also loves Vera Bradley so we've done some of that in the past. Jewelry is also great, but only if you know her taste.

If you know anything about her financial situation, then a basic gift card to Kroger (grocery chain), Wal-Mart or Target would always be well received. That way she could take care of needs instead of wants if she really HAD to.

I bet she will be sad, too, so it would be great to have something to help her remember the boys, but also something to communicate how truly special she is!

massage gift card. DCP's have a physically and emotionally demanding job and massages are so nice!

We got DD's infant room teachers a Tiffany letter pendant (comes with a necklace) and then had it engraved on the back with "Love, DD's name."

When DD moved from one center to another, I wrote a heart felt thank you to her and a simular one to her boss about what a great employee she is. I also had DD make a card for her. She said it brought her to tears and made the hard days a little easier.

We also gave her a Target GC so she could get anything she wanted (school supplies, food, clothes, etc).
