A night, yes. But we have not taken a weekend to go away yet, and dd is over 4. I am so afraid that she will get sick and want me and I won't be able to get to her fast enough. I obviously have issues.
I have left my son a few times but only with DH. DH and I have never left together. I have never left my little girl (16 mos) but plan to next month and I can't WAIT.

I've had plenty of nights away from my 3 yo but never with my 11 month old.
I'm open to the idea of a night away from our baby but life just caught up with us ever since he was born. First it was my dad being in the ICU for close to 7 months. He finally got better and his care become less all-consuming for me and now my MIL is having a series of strokes.
So it's not our children keeping us from having a night away--it's our aging parents who need the care and attention.
we do "grandma weekends" (sat - mon) every 5-6 weeks at least. I live for them. In fact, I'm trying to get my mom to do a grandma weekend this weekend, lol.
My babies!!
Patrick Aydin, 9.24.07, and Alia Noor, 6.1.11
As soon as my kids were ok with sleeping over at my mom's house, she refused to babysit them at our house. She'd rather keep them overnight then come to my house to babysit. Fine with me!
That being said, we've only been away more than 1 night (for 2 nights) once in 4 years and that was just last summer.
Julia has been away from us for a night or two regularly since she was 9 months old. My sister, aunt and mother all like to take her when they can, which is a great break. Emma will be a bit older before we can since she's nursing and won't take a bottle. My family can't wait until she can go with them overnight and I can't wait for a break lol!
Re: S/O Clicky poll: Have you spent the night away from your DC?
other. Somewhere between "yes it was a little hard for me" and "plenty of times."
I have gone on two week long trips and a couple of overnights since DD was born and left her with DH (first was when she was 16 months).
DH and I took a weekend away when she was 19 months and a week away when she was just about 3.
She's also had a couple of overnights at friend's houses.
