I'm a green thumb so I have some beautiful plants - some that I have had for years and years so I really don't want to throw away my plants. Now that DG is creeping and sorta crawling I really need to do something about the plants. What did you do with yours? I don't have family in the area to "lend" for awhile and to take them to work would involve a special trip via car since I live in DC and commute by the Metro (subway) but I could do that I guess. I am not sure about putting plants up on a table (I wouldn't have enough tables!) or a bookshelf type thing...they could fall on her, right? Suggestions?
You can use a play-yard type thing to rope it off. Realize that the fence may not be sturdy for DS pulling up on though unless you really bolt it to the wall or have it secured behind something immovable at either end.
We thoroughly baby-proofed and gated our living room, so we had one room where she could roam freely. When we let her crawl around the rest of the house we always kept an eye on her (obviously we didn't leave knives on the floor or anything). You could gate off a plant area or make one room super-safe and move any plants out of that area.
Funny story about babies and plants (but sadly, not a real solution): When my nephew was little, my sister told him that if he touched her plants, they would bite him. To emphasize this point, she would reach out to touch the plant then yelp and pull her hand away quickly. I think my nephew was about 10 years old before he would come near plants and bushes! LOL!
